The Sierra Nevada rises abruptly above Granada, its sunbaked slopes stretching into cool, rarefied air and, silent horizons. Climbs unfold slowly and relentlessly: the road carving through a landscape that feels both stark and immense. If you dare go high enough, the world opens: peaks, sky, and distance blending into something that feels almost otherworldly. In May 2026 I spent six days riding through this cycling heaven, only able to explore the tip of the iceberg that is this spectacular place.
