In 2023, after a successful second expedition to Condoriri Valley to climb Tarija and Pequeño Alapmayo; our ultimate goal was the 6,500m summit of Illimani. We headed Southeast towards the Chilean border to the remote area of Sajama, to climb the 6,000m Acotango Volcano; and finally returned to the Cordillera Real for the pièce de résistance of the expedition: Illimani.
